Is It illegal to audio record your conversation in Australia?

A few months ago i had a problem in relation to my work. I have gotten a pay increase only to find out that my hourly rate (pay increase) was actually equivalent to any other Retail Assistant in the store and i myself was In-charge of the shop doing everything that a manager would do all by myself like performing stock take, entering stock into the database and putting money into the bank account etc. I confronted my boss about the situation, my late pay and about the fact that i found out on that day that she also hasn't been contributing to my super since i started working there. I audio recorded our conversation without her knowing at the same time. Is this illegal (Australian Law)?
