The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass how to get to the isle of gust?

I have tried 9 times exactly sailing the course I traced from the map found in that hole sayin its the only way to get to the Isle of gust and its never worked as soon as I get just a little close to getting out I get put back to start how do I get out of the fog????
