Did youtube change the video player again?

Every time I watch a video now the buffer bar(red bar that comes up when hovering over the video)doesn't move as in it doesn't load ahead of the little circle. When I watch an embed video from a forum it plays "normal" as in the red bar keeps loading past the circle and eventually reaches the end. This is really bothering me because it seems slower as well. I used to be able to watch somewhat long videos and now I can't watch a 5+ minute video without it having to buffer.
