Virtual Families won't run. Can I fix this problem?

I use Windows XP on an IBM laptop and Comodo Firewall. When I try to start the game, I get an error message 'unable to start graphics engine due to improper system configuration.' I also get a pop up warning from Comodo that the file has been partially limited because of a possible buffer overflow. Is there a way to fix this so the game runs again? Thanks!
