What causes download speeds to dwindle during a download?

Our internet has been horrendously slow ever since the start if this summer for some reason. Whenever I try to download a file, it starts off average at around 3 MBPS but then it gradually slows down and levels off at 40 KPBS. Even if you pause and restart it's no use. I suspect that this terrible problem is the reason it is near impossible to watch youtube and netlfix videos because the internet looses so much download speed, it is impossible to buffer.

I liked it! It was very suspenseful from what I read, but it's hard to really get a feeling of the nature of the story with just a small portion of the writings. I do like when you described the moonlight surrounding the Angel, and then being blocked out when he moved, only to be surrounded by the pale light again when he took a step foreward. That paragraph really gave me an interesting image in my head of the terrified narrator and the massive Angel. All in all, that was a great selection from the story. How can I make it get the video? I've never had this problem on Youtube, even when the videos do have commercials. I did have it happen to me on Viddler, but I just clicked ahead to an un-buffered part of the video and then back to 0:00 and that worked. Today I tried on UStream.tv and got commercials. It depends on who it is, and they're not all violent. I had since then arguments about bands, homework, colours and yes, a lot of violence and death. Whenever there is a thunderstorm.. I almost get angry. I get so filled with fear though, that I just can't control myself. It is as if a person is pointing a gun at me, in metaphorical terms. Every rumble of thunder, gust of wind, and bolt of lightning just makes me want to burrow a 50 foot hole in the ground. Literally. Here in Colorado, the weather is unpredictable, and especially in May and June, there are tons of thunderstorms. The thing is, I am less afraid of thunderstorms when the skies are more light gray. Even if there is a tornado warning, I feel more calm if the sky is gray, not dark. It is the darkness, the loud noise, and my pathological fear of tornadoes that gets to me. I can't stand or sit still when there is a thunderstorm. I immediately head for the basement, and just pace back and forth in fear. Now please don't tell me to just sit down, and listen to my iPod, because that just doesn't cut it. I need someone that can relate to me. I believe this all started when I was probably 9, but it got worse when I turned 12. 2-3 years later, it has even gotten even worse. It may be because I lived in the Mountains for a few years, and the thunderstorms were so terrible up there. What got me most was one time when we had a tornado warning in the mountains, which is very unusual. The sky turned yellow, and it hailed like there was no tomorrow. How do you polish aluminum on big rigs?

Ok so I first started off with sanding everything down with a 400 grit sander, then I moved up to an 800 grit sander. I started my polishing with a yellow airway and brown rouge. It looks pretty good, however it's not close to being a mirror finish. I'm also getting a lot of smudging, and cant seem to get rid of it. Just for kicks, I tried the white airway buffer and the white polishing bar and it made my finish look even worse. Is the trick of the finish in the sanding? I'm also doing one of those huge grills that are put on the truck in the event a truck hits an animal. Any tips on getting to all the nooks and crannies that the buffer wheel can't get at?

Very good cards yes, but if you think about there existance they can slow you down. Magical Mallet-if you didn't have it you might get cards more often anyways, Dark Bribe-blackwings don't wait around for things to happen, they take action, so, why wait for your opponent to make the first move, counter it, and then let them have a card that could lead the to winning the duel when you could have won 5 turns ago. If this becomes the best answer by questionier I will give you more in-depth tips. 9/10 deck.

Internet speed suddenly slower?

I got a new computer recently because my old one was fried. So I set up the computer and all was well, except for one thing: I noticed that when watching youtube videos, the videos were pausing to buffer a lot and most videos that I watch now have to frequently pause to buffer. This never happened with my old computer, and in the time between my old one getting fried and me getting my new one, I watched videos on my ipod without it needing to stop to buffer. Is my internet being slowed by something, or is there some kind of option to change internet settings to fix this? There was one cord I didn't plug in because when I did, it wouldn't let my computer run normally. It was the PC/USB cord that goes from my router to the computer. Must I plug that in, or does the problem lie elsewhere?

Maximising performance on home desktop computer...?

I put a link in the source box but I would just like to say DO NOT format the drive to NTFS if it is in FAT32. If it is already in NTFS then ok. The reason for this is that FAT32 is the more commonly used setup and the slightest error in backing up and converting to NTFS can cause a loss of all your data. Secondly DO NOT go into the services section unless you know how to handle it as some things are required for your pc to work and disrupting them can cause major if not fatal damage to your pc. If you intend to perform these operations then I recommend you back up your computer into a file on your external hard drive and back up service and registry settings (you should find steps on how to do this easily enough on the Internet) good luck and I hope this helps. And for a quick bit of my own advice: go into my computer. Right click on your local disc c. Perform disk cleanup and tick the nessecary boxes. None of them soil cause damage to your pc if removed. This just deletes empty folders and empties recycle bin etc. Then perform disk defragmentation. I recommend performing these before Backing up and following the steps in the we site

I'm on the poms team for my high school. I was on JV the past two years, and this year i made Varsity. i was so excited to prove to everybody that i could do it. But after having practice for about a month, i just feel like i can't take it anymore. My coach only cares about winning, and she picks on people (especially me) and always just comments on things you do wrong, never once giving encouragement. I have become addicted to painkillers and don't know what to do?

A few months ago, after a painful operation, the doctor put me on painkillers (combination of paracetamol= tylenol and codeine). The problem is that I kept taking them even after the pain subsided, because they made me feel better, and I felt I could perform better at work while I was on them. The codeine especially makes me feel more energetic. I tried to stop taking the tablets a few times, but felt so awful that I had to start again. I take at least 6 tablets a day and cannot imagine what to do without them. But I'd really like to stop because I know I am doing myself damage and I can't go on like that. By the way I don't drink or smoke, and used to be quite healthy before my addiction kicked in. Please give me some advice on how to stop without going crazy. Do I have to go cold turkey? Also, you do not need to describe your babysitter so in depth, if she an important character we will discover her personality through her speech and what others think of her. I know more about the babysitterthan I do the point of the story. Also, it's great that you want to tell how you and Annah met, but I frankly don't care about what the teacher thought of Annah's moving around so much. If that is a key component ofthe story, play with it a little, try building up to this flashback more and kind of have your mom and Annah's mom talking about you two and then tell how your character and Annah became friends in a brief way. Since Annah is clearly going to be a main character, you have time to describe her and your relationship in the story. Final tip be more descriptive but not overly descriptive, and give some but not all the information, and last but not least be creative but focus your creativity.

Is it normal for a new garden fence to shake a little bit in the wind?

hi we recently replaced an old 6ft tall garden fence after strong winds caused the 4x4 inch posts to snap off. we found that the old posts had been cemented in the ground and we could not break up the cement as the whoever put the fence up before us used too much cement around the posts. therefore we replaced the fence using 4x4 inch posts and 6 x 4 foot overlap panels (ones with wooden slats going across) and used those steel post spikes hammered and cemented into the ground to hold the new posts secure. after completion i checked the fence and it felt very secure although i am worrying now after it being up for a few weeks that it may collapse again or something as we have been getting fairly gusty winds lately and i have noticed that the posts and panels shake or wobble a bit when a gust blows across the garden. is this normal and will the fence be okay? thanks :-(

Did youtube change the video player again?

Every time I watch a video now the buffer bar(red bar that comes up when hovering over the video)doesn't move as in it doesn't load ahead of the little circle. When I watch an embed video from a forum it plays "normal" as in the red bar keeps loading past the circle and eventually reaches the end. This is really bothering me because it seems slower as well. Internet is very slow at certain times?

For the past 3 days my internet has been extremely slow. All the other computers have their normal speed of internet. But mine is really slow. Like when I go on youtube and try to watch a video. Videos (Flash?) Keeps Freezing?

Okay so I recently got a new computer, and the video will freeze every so often -- it can vary from 10 minutes to 30 minutes between freezes, sometimes longer. It just freezes for about 5 - 10 seconds. The sound keeps going, the video is fully buffered, my computer is fully responsive, it's just that the video itself will freeze. The sound doesn't skip, my computer doesn't act funny, the video just freezes. I've updated Adobe Flash Player, so I don't know if that's it. I don't seem to have a problem with games, though I'm not a big gamer. Nothing else freezes, it doesn't happen if I'm typing and the screen itself is fine. Again, just the video box freezes. I can move the mouse, scroll up and down the screen, etc. It's just like someone put an image still in for 5 - 10 seconds, but kept the sound going. What is this, and is there anything I can do to fix it?

I have 2 groups of people grasping an object and I'm measuring the force at each finger. To tell you the truth none of it surprises me and I think if a person is well exposed to the world these things won't surprise them either. And I know some people may be surprised to see an educated, articulate black man and that's just ignorance, I know plenty: my dad, my uncles and family, friends I mean we have a black president who graduated from Harvard. People who are surprised by an educated black man are ignorant, and tend to stereotype and generalize. And about the question, Is it surprising that black boys don't perform as well in school than white boys? Well, the reason for this is mostly environmental, black children are more likely to live in poverty than white children, the schools they may go to might not be as good as suburban ones, there are many single parent homes, and crime- these things usually stem from poverty. Basically, many of these things don't surprise me I mean it is somewhat shocking and pretty sad actually all the things you listed above, but knowing the society we live in and how they view the black male, and the many situations and issues black males may be more subject to, it's not quite surprising. And I do feel a lot of people stereotype, not just people stereotyping blacks and it's a sad fact. And I am an African American female, I live in the suburbs, attend a 90% white school and people have told me that they were surprised that I was smart, and I got the highest grade on a test and a teacher thought I may have cheated. So, all in all, because of real life occurrences, preconceived notions, and many deeper issues within our society and even the black community- many that can have a historical root, what you have listed is not surprising.

Well that one part with air made me giggle a little... I can't say what that's called on this forum lol. I've had 3 kids and when I sneeze I have to cross my legs lol. I have the same problem with my bangs and my hair is naturally straight. What I do is let my hair be in it's natural part (which is basically in the middle) and I style my bangs a little with a straightener so then they sweep more to the side. So... My bangs are on the left side of my face so I put a little heat protection on them and then you get sections of your bangs and near the roots pull up just a little and then twist your wrist to the direction you want your bangs to sweep to, you could also hair spray it and then tease it a little probably. Also! This works well, after a shower wear a beanie to sleep. Position your bangs how you want them to look (but do it more exaggerated, better results when you take off the beanie) and sleep with it like that. Then when you wake up your bangs will be dry and more to the side.

Let's just say that a few weeks ago I found myself in a very deep meditative state. I felt myself slowly being separated from the room I was in. It was as if I had been a two-dimensional being all my life, and suddenly I had stepped off the screen into a more three-dimensional space. Maybe it would be better described as a fourth dimension? I don't know. The objects in the room were all the same, yet different. The way in which I became separated was very interesting to me. The room seemed to slightly pixelate in the process, as if it had not been "real" all along, as if it had been programed. As I was sinking deeper and deeper into the dark caverns of my consciousness, I found myself in an unexpected place. Although I could still see the room around me, I was looking at it through what I would describe as a spherical wall of screens. To help you imagine it, think of the way a bee or a fly might see the world through it's hundreds of eyes.I was standing (though not physically) in a dark center of space surrounded by these "screens", and I saw the room. I got the sense that this was the "control center" of my mind. Time had completely stopped. Time was irrelevant. A minute or an hour could have passed, and I would not be able to tell you which was true. I was in the midst of eternity. I felt something else was with me. It wasn't physical, but I could feel it's presence close to me. I want to say that it was separate from me, but I suddenly realized that I was it, and it it was me. I asked it to tell me why I was shown this place. It told me that sometimes it needed to remind itself where it had come from and what it's purpose on earth was. It told me it had left small clues in our world to help us remember where it came from and why. Suddenly I was thrown even deeper into space only to find myself (my consciousness) floating above an incredible sight.In the middle of dark space I witnessed something unexpected. I'm not quite sure how to even begin to describe it. I'm not sure words in the English language exist that would be adequate to describe what I saw. In fact while I was deep in it, I thought to myself "How the hell do I describe this when I'll want to explain to someone what I saw???" but I will try. I witnessed our universe being born and reborn over and over and over again at very high speeds. It wasn't like the "big bang", it was more like a loop that constantly turned inside out. It was like the shape of an inverse-rotating donut, or I suppose what some would describe as the symbol for "infinity". It was a giant, infinite fractal. This Universe was not what we believe it to be. It performed a function, and that function was to constantly generate new possibilities. Much like computers in our world (though extraordinarily/severely basic in comparison) the Universe was like a giant calculator/generator producing infinite possibilities through complex mathematical equations.There was a strong presence/consciousness hanging over it. This "calculator/computer" Universe was the creation of this consciousness, and it overlooked every single little action with incredible yet effortless and tireless concentration. I suppose that this presence is the thing to which many people refer to as "God". I felt a oneness with this being. I finally understood that I was it, it was me, it was you, it was the grass, it was the rock, it was the ant, the bird, the wind, the sky, the earth,.... it was everything. It was love, hate, anger, sadness, it was us. Imagine yourself being cut into a quadrillion pieces, and those individual pieces being able to have experiences of their own, separate from the whole. According to my vision that's what our world is. The world and all of us, we are IT. Since I realized what an important moment this was, I did not want to miss asking the big question. My question was "How did you come to be? Where did this start?" It replied in a form of exchanging a thought in my mind, and the answer was that it simply WAS. It just IS. It did not know why or how, in fact it did not care for why or how, it didn't feel the need to know why or how, it just WAS. Since we humans experience a "beginning" and an "end" on this earth via birth and death, it is very difficult for us to imagine something having no beginning and no end. It seems inconceivable, much like the idea of infinity, something without an end. We try to imagine it, but we struggle to come to terms with the fact that something may not have an end or a beginning. I can't say I felt satisfied by that answer for the reason I mentioned just now, but I accepted it. My next question was why we were here. Understanding came to me in the form of seeing. In a manner of speaking it split itself into an incomprehensible number of pieces in order to learn. It was like an enormous calculator
